Adoption

Adopting saves a life twice.

Every adoption frees up a foster place for the next animal in distress. Our animals are listed on Patte-forme, where adoption applications are made too.

What an adoption includes

An animal ready for its new life.

Every Pawprint animal comes with the care and paperwork French law requires, and the care common sense recommends.

  • Full veterinary check
  • Microchip identification
  • Vaccinations up to date
  • Parasite treatment
  • Sterilised, where age allows
  • Health certificate, as required by law

Adoption fees contribute to this care. They usually do not cover its real cost.

The process

Four steps to a new member of the family.

  1. 1

    Choose

Browse our animals on Patte-forme and fill in the adoption application form.

  2. 2

    Commit

You sign the certificate of commitment and knowledge electronically, as French law requires, at least seven days before the adoption.

  3. 3

    Meet

We review your application and arrange a home visit to meet you and make sure the animal you have chosen is the right match for your home.

  4. 4

    Welcome

You sign the adoption agreement, pay the adoption fee, and we schedule the day you collect your new companion.

How many we can help

On average we take in between 150 and 200 animals a year, with a further 30 to 50 that we help indirectly. Our capacity depends on our finances and on the availability of our volunteer team.
